Nothing More Unfortunate Than Fat Children (According to JFK)


In this news clip from President John F. Kennedy's speech at the 50th anniversary of children's bureau, JFK speaks out against childhood obesity. JFK goes so far as to say that there is nothing "more unfortunate than to have soft, chubby, fat-looking children." Kennedy discusses a child who goes to watch a basketball game and considers that his weekly exercise. JFK goes on to encourage the people of America to enrich their children's lives with exercise and adventure. Childhood obesity remains a pressing issue in America
