Synopsis

Ulana Khomyuk (Emily Watson – Apple Tree Yard, The Theory of Everything) is a scientist committed to getting to the bottom of the cause, while Lyudmilla Ignatenko (Jessie Buckley – Wild Rose, Beast) is the wife of a firefighter who was first on the scene. Stellan Skarsgård (Mamma Mia, Thor) plays Soviet Deputy Prime Minister Boris Shchergina, leading the government commission from a safe distance.

Directed by The Walking Dead’s Jonas Renck, the series is committed to a realism that refuses to shy away from the horrors, both physical and psychological, inflicted upon the victims of this uniquely horrifying event. A deeply moving story about how individuals act when faced with something inexplicable, this drama seeks to honour the spirit of those who helped stop the devastation from spreading even further.

Investigating the lengths to which governments will go to cover up atrocities and suppress the spread of information, Chernobyl also acts as a timely warning: the truth will out.

Animals on drugs!

Black lemurs get high off millipedes in Madagascar. The lemurs bite the millipedes gently to provoke the millipedes to spray out defensive chemicals including cyanide. The lemurs crave these chemicals and rub the secretions all over their body to act as an insect repellant but as a consequence the lemurs enter a blissful state.

First Class Bus Stop by George Barratt-Jones

We all know it, taking the bus isn't the most fun thing to do.
So why can't it be more luxurious and fun? Why can't the start of the day be more fun?

So I created the "First Class Bus Stop". Serving people coffee, tea and a home made cookies. While cafe music is being played in the background.

People can come to have a chat. Get to know the people in their neighbourhood.

Turning to otherwise boring time waiting for the bus. Into something hopefully more enjoyable.

This project was all about creating more fun. Making people 10% happier.
