It's four years since we left the adventurous pair. Lucky (Minchin) has returned to Sydney where he’s finally achieved the musical success he’s always longed for…. but fame isn’t all it’s cracked up to be...  now he’s an emotional mess, with a drinking problem and his relationship with his TV star girlfriend is on the rocks. As if things couldn't get any more chaotic, there's a knock on the door…  Meg (Alcock) is back, and she needs Lucky's help.

Trading the desert for the steamy tropics of Queensland, Lucky and Meg embark on a new quest –  to find Meg's mum, Linda, who left when she was a child.  But things don’t always run smoothly… there are twists and turns and sometimes danger on their epic trip, plus there’s a worrying secret Meg’s keeping from Lucky.
