Eight of Iran's women's football team are men who are awaiting sex swap operations. - Taiwanese TV
TEHRAN / IRAN — Iran's national female soccer team has been accused of using players who are not "fully" women. According to Saudi-owned news outlet Al Arabiya, as many as eight of their players have yet to undergo a sex change operation, yet they are playing as females.
The allegations stem from Mojtabi Sharifi, who told the Iranian-based Young Journalists Club, "Players have been playing with Iran's female team without completing sex change operations." Sharifi was described as "an official close to the Iranian league."
The International Olympic Committee allows transsexual athletes to compete in their respective categories as long as they've completed sexual reassignment surgery, undergone two years of hormonal therapy, and are legally recognized as said gender.
Believe it or not, sex change operations are legal in Iran. Pretty surprising for a culture which values segregation of sexes and punishes homosexuality with death.
By the way, this wouldn't the first time Iran's been busted for tucking-back an eggplant or two on the soccer field. The Telegraph reported this same problem in 2014 when four men were found to be playing on Iran's female soccer team.
So if Iran can't play by the international rules and regulations on the soccer field, can we trust them to uphold other international standards and agreements? Where not calling their bluff could lead to apocalyptic consequences.

The "beta uprising" according to Taiwanese TV.
ROSEBURG, OREGON — The night before the Umpqua Community College shooting near Rosenburg, Oregon, a post was made on 4chan warning others of malicious intent. Other anonymous users called his bluff, and a few told him to not to do it, but some jokingly posted, "beta uprising."
The term "beta uprising" is a joke referring to "beta males" who may feel jaded by society and unwanted by the opposite sex. The jokesters purport that beta males may resort to violent actions in their futile search for significance. Therefore, the term is often associated with mass murderers.
The random 4chan boards "/r9k/" and "/b/" have a reputation for hating women and "normies," defined by the the Urban Dictionary as the 97 percent of people without a mental illness.
However, 4chan remains a rather safe place for the First Amendment to be exercised, and if a board gets banned there, there are other places anonymous posters can go. But let's be real, after Thursday's tragedy, the beta uprising joke has lost its charm.
