Trying to explain a board game
In 2010, LeBron James was an NBA free agent and there was worry that he would leave his hometown team, the Cleveland Cavaliers. In an attempt to convince LeBron to stay, dozens of local Cleveland celebrities sang a rendition of “We are the world” called “we are Lebron”. LeBron left that summer
Whenever I watch Barbara Walters’ interviews, I can’t help but suspect that she is just a mean girl posing as a journalist. She uses her “journalism” as a hall pass/get-out-of-jail-free card to ask people rude, demeaning questions. Whenever one of her interviewees is visibly taken aback by her abrasiveness, Walters will often hide behind the “you know I have to ask,” Or “You know this is what people are wondering,”. The most egregious example of this was when she demonized Corey Feldman for speaking out about the abuse he and Corey Haim endured as child stars. She accused Feldman of “damaging an entire industry”…
By that logic, no one should ever speak out about abuse because it could potentially damage X or Y industry.
Yeah
All is quiet on New Year's Day
A world in white gets underway
I want to be with you
Be with you, night and day
Nothing changes on New Year's Day
On New Year's Day
I will be with you again
I will be with you again
Under a blood red sky
A crowd has gathered in black and white
Arms entwined, the chosen few
The newspapers says, says
Say it's true, it's true
And we can break through
Though torn in two
We can be one
I, I will begin again
I, I will begin again
Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Ah, maybe the time is right
Oh, maybe tonight
I will be with you again
I will be with you again
And so we're told this is the golden age
And gold is the reason for the wars we wage
Though I want to be with you, be with you
Night and day
Nothing changes
On New Year's Day
On New Year's Day
On New Year's Day
