Today we will be taking a look at one of the biggest proofs of corruption and ineptitude in police history.

An Ohio judge found a 19-year-old guilty of murdering her boyfriend and another teen by deliberately causing a horrible accident. Mackenzie Shirilla was accused of deliberately slamming her car at 100 mph into a brick wall that killed her 20-year-old boyfriend Dominic Russo and his 19-year-old friend Davion Flanagan. This Acorn TV Original drama delighted viewers, and earned a legion of fans, when it premiered on Acorn TV and now, hot on the heels of a brand-new second season, The Chelsea Detective Series One is set to make its DVD and digital debut on 18 September 2023 courtesy of Acorn Media International.

After separating from his art dealer wife Astrid (Anamaria Marinca – Midsomer Murders, Fury), Max (Scarborough) lives on a houseboat on the River Thames in Chelsea, just yards from some of the most valuable real estate in Europe. The highly regarded borough is full of beautiful people, but it has a dark underside of deprivation, violence, greed – and murder. Bodies have a way of showing up and things are rarely as they seem, but Max’s determination and knowledge of London’s streets means he’ll find a way to root out the truth and bring those responsible to justice – regardless of their wealth or status.

Together with his trusty colleague, Streatham-born D.C. Priya Shamsie (Sonita Henry – Luther, Krypton), Max must investigate a slew of enthralling cases from the strange to the complex, including the death of a lonely stonemason on the London Underground, which, at first, seems like a real-life haunting; the strange disappearance of Robyn Romano, social media sensation and wife of high-profile restauranteur; the stabbing of a well-liked security guard which takes Max from the luxury homes of the super-rich to drug dealing street corners and the murder of a teacher at a prestigious international school.

For captivating crime in well-to-do West London, open your casebook for The Chelsea Detective Series One – an addictively good police procedural showcasing witty humour, charming characters and spectacular sites.
